The incident happened on the evening of December 30, 2024 in Bickley Road. Three men forced their way into a house througha broken bathroom window.while the owners were inside. The crime lasted about 45 minutes – from 17:40 to 18:25 – after which the burglars fled the scene.
Scotland Yard has released photos of some of the stolen jewelryhoping the public will help in the search. According to police, no one has been arrested yet.
“While the financial value of what was stolen is enormous, for the family it is first and foremost an irreparable loss of heritage,” said Detective Jamie White. – Many of the items have been passed down through generations and have invaluable sentimental value.”
He also noted thatsome of the stolen jewelry is uniquewhich may help in their recovery.
Police have previously warned residents on this street about cases where burglars have leftdirt on their doorstep.to see if someone will clean it up. If the dirt is left untouched, it may indicate that the occupants are away – and the house becomes a target for burglary.
There have been a number of similar burglaries in London in recent months police said.
