China hosts world’s first kickboxing tournament for humanoid robots
Independent reports that on Sunday, May 25, the world’s first kickboxing tournament among humanoid robots was held in Hangzhou, eastern China. The machines traded punches in the ring in front of an enthusiastic crowd.
The video shows the robots throwing punches with their hands and knees until one of them loses its balance and staggers out of the ring.
The competition was part of a series of tournamentsChina Media Group World Robot Competition– project,
aimed at promoting regional robotics and bringing together science, culture and tourism.
The winning robot“AI strategist.”controlled by Lu Xin. He knocked out an opponent named“Guardian of Energy.”who was handled by operator Hu Yongqian, in all three rounds.
The competition series also includes soccer and basketball matches involving robots.
